Meditation with your eyes open — it sounds almost counterintuitive, doesn’t it?
For most of us, the mental image of meditation conjures up someone sitting cross-legged, eyes gently closed, lost in an inner world. But what if I told you that meditating with your eyes open can be just as transformative, if not more so?

- Soft Gaze: Find a point to focus on, something neutral like a spot on the floor or a distant tree. Soften your gaze, allowing your peripheral vision to come into play. This diffuses your focus, preventing you from getting lost in details and helping you remain aware of your surroundings without being overwhelmed.
- Nature as a Guide: Nature is an excellent backdrop for open-eye meditation. The rhythmic sway of trees, the movement of clouds, or the gentle ripple of water can all serve as focal points. These natural elements have an innate ability to soothe and center the mind.
- Candle Meditation: This is a traditional technique where you focus on the flame of a candle. The gentle flicker of the flame provides a dynamic point of focus, helping to keep your attention steady and your mind quiet.
- Mindful Walking: This is meditation on the go. Walk slowly and deliberately, focusing on each step. Feel the ground beneath your feet, notice the movement of your body, and keep your eyes softly open, observing your surroundings without getting lost in them.
